In a market overflowing with smartphones claiming to deliver premium performance at a budget price, Vivo's T4x 5G confidently steps in as a serious contender. Launched in March 2025 at ₹13,999, the T4x enters the sub-₹15,000 segment with an unusual combination: a flagship-size 6500mAh battery, a 4nm MediaTek chipset, a 120Hz display, and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification — all at a price where most phones cut at least two of those corners.

The Vivo T4x is an all-rounder under ₹15,000 — its biggest selling point is the combination of a 6500mAh battery, a capable Dimensity 7300 chipset, and a 120Hz screen. A balanced mix that benefits most users more than a flashy camera or premium display alone.

Design and Build

The Vivo T4x 5G doesn't try to reinvent the wheel in terms of design, but what it delivers is clean, minimal, and comfortable. Available in Pronto Purple and Marine Blue, the phone features a slightly reflective matte finish that resists fingerprints surprisingly well. It's MIL-STD-810H certified — rare at this price point — making it a sturdy companion for daily use.

Dimensions: 165.7 × 76.3 × 8.1mm | Weight: 204g (Pronto Purple) / 208g (Marine Blue). The weight is on the heavier side for a budget phone — a direct result of the 6500mAh battery inside.

Display

The T4x features a 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2408 × 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of approximately 1050 nits, scrolling and animations feel ultra-smooth. Panda Glass protection ensures resistance to scratches.

The honest limitation here: this is an IPS LCD, not an AMOLED. The LCD display is the phone's biggest shortcoming — it is not bright enough compared to AMOLED panels in this segment, and this is a major drawback for outdoor visibility.  However, the presence of Always-On Display on an LCD panel is a pleasant surprise — a feature typically reserved for OLED screens.

Performance

Under the hood, the Vivo T4x 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 — a 4nm processor that offers excellent performance efficiency. During testing, everything from multitasking and app-switching to light gaming felt fluid. Paired with up to 8GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, the phone performs admirably in day-to-day tasks.

In benchmarks, the T4x scored around 618,343 on AnTuTu — comparable to or even surpassing some Snapdragon 6 Gen 1-powered phones.

While this isn't a flagship chip, it's more than capable for most users, especially considering the pricing.

Camera

The Vivo T4x 5G sports a dual rear camera setup — a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. In well-lit environments, the camera delivers sharp, detailed photos with accurate colors. AI scene recognition adjusts settings fairly intelligently for landscapes, food, and portraits. Low-light performance is where the limitations show — images tend to be soft and noisy in darker environments. The absence of an ultra-wide or macro lens is a downside for photography enthusiasts.

The 8MP front camera is sufficient for selfies and video calls, although skin tones sometimes appear a bit over-smoothed due to aggressive beauty filters — which can thankfully be turned off. Both front and rear cameras support video recording up to 1080p at 30fps.

Battery and Charging

The headline Vivo T4x battery spec is a massive 6,500mAh cell. In real-world use, this translates to comfortable all-day — often two-day — endurance on a single charge for typical usage including lectures, notes, messaging, and video streaming.

Vivo supplies 44W fast charging — when you need a top-up, it fills reasonably quickly. Long battery life is one of the strongest Vivo T4x features for students who don't want to hunt for power outlets.

Real owner reviews confirm 1-day backup with heavy usage and 2 days with moderate use. Charging from 0 to 100% takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Verdict

The Vivo T4x 5G delivers a well-rounded experience for users who prioritise performance, battery life, and display quality at a budget price. While it may lack features like an AMOLED screen or stereo speakers, it compensates with 5G support, a 120Hz refresh rate, and reliable everyday performance. Ideal for students, new smartphone buyers, or anyone upgrading from 4G, the Vivo T4x 5G is a smart and future-ready option in the entry-level 5G segment.

Rating: 8.3/10 — At ₹13,999, the battery alone justifies the purchase. The absence of NFC and AMOLED are genuine limitations but entirely expected at this price tier.
